With the availability of local, state and federal funding, buyers are able to get more for their real estate dollar at a time where the affordability is good and interest rates are still low. Luckily for Minnesota home buyers, the state has always been a leader in the real estate market in terms of available programs and buyers can take advantage of the opportunities.

According to the Minneapolis Area Association of REALTORS, the Twin Cities metro area has seen a 31 point jump in the affordability of homes. Thanks to those low rates and lower home prices. However, buyers have less to choose from now than they did a year a go as we now are seeing a 20% drop in the supply and demand ratio. This is due to less homes being on the market and more sales in the past months.
