EXIT Realty Agents Help Buyers Find Program Money for Foreclosed Homes

Alan Dirks, Regional Owner issues press release

Press release: Minneapolis / St. Paul, MN (Grassroots Newswire) EXIT Agents throughout Minnesota are finding new ways help their clients buy homes through existing programs available via the state. With the availability of local, state and federal funding, buyers are able to get more for their real estate dollar at a time where the affordability is good and interest rates are still low. Luckily for Minnesota home buyers, the state has always been a leader in the real estate market in terms of available programs and buyers can take advantage of the opportunities.

According to the Minneapolis Area Association of REALTORS, the Twin Cities metro area has seen a 31 point jump in the affordability of homes. Thanks to those low rates and lower home prices. However, buyers have less to choose from now than they did a year a go as we now are seeing a 20% drop in the supply and demand ratio. This is due to less homes being on the market and more sales in the past months.

In terms of foreclosures, EXIT Realty Minnesota has a number of offices that specialize in Broker Price Opinions for Asset Management companies. By being on the front lines of the foreclosure arena, EXIT agents have access to many properties before they are assigned to go on the market. In addition, EXIT professionals are able to guide their clients to programs like one made available from the City of Minneapolis which announced on January 7th, 2009 that a $1.5 million dollar grant in now available to help neighborhoods in foreclosure. Eligible buyers can receive a $10,000 grant towards down-payment and closing costs on the purchase of a foreclosed home within specific communities in Minneapolis. Other cities and counties have programs available as well.

Minneapolis neighborhoods & grants for home purchases

Good news for all buyers-- and communities. This kind of action reinforces community bonds, lessoning drug & other illegal activities.

Dear writer,

This sort of grant program to provide home buyers the ability to purchase foreclosures is an asset to our community base-- alleviating the probability of more vacant properties, the erosion of communities and the further reduction of home values across the country.  It is far better to assist those in need to obtain and maintain viable homes and communities (and tax bases,) rather than allow whole neighborhoods to fall into disrepair & falling values and therefore, reduced desireability-- and re-create the crack houses of the late 1990's as we in the housing markets saw with all too much frequency.  --And as a home-owner who keeps her credit card debt low, and lives within her means, I say: better a viable, active, thriving neighbor than watch my neighborhood deteriorate and reduce MY home's value.  I'll take a grant for my neighbors any day of the week!!  Bravo, Minneapolis leaders.  May the rest of my country take note and follow suit!  --Respectively yours, Robin Wright  Exit Ralty, Hamilton  MT
